Ice Fishing on the Spray

From my house, a short twenty minute drive down a gravel road leads to Spray Lakes. I’ve been meaning to check out the ice-fishing culture for years if only for the fact that it exists right beneath my nose. A deservedly popular subject for photographers, ice fishing may actually be more miserable than ice climbing (unless you’re using a structure). But I won’t pass judgment until I officially try it. These guys were incredibly good sports. It was near minus 30 with the wind chill and nary a fish in sight.
